CA Counties with Collaborative Justice Courts

California Counties with Collaborative Justice Courts as of October, 2015*

  • California has more than 390 collaborative justice courts in 53 of its 58 counties. Collaborative justice courts are defined as those that have a dedicated calendar and judge and use a collaborative justice model (i.e., drug court model) that combines judicial supervision with social and treatment services to offenders in lieu of detention, jail, or prison.  This includes using a multidisciplinary, non-adversarial team approach with involvement from justice system representatives, treatment providers, and other stake holders.  Data have been voluntarily provided by the courts in an ongoing effort to maintain a roster of all collaborative justice courts in California.  Information on selected collaborative justice courts that meet the above definition of collaborative justice court may be found here, although not all court types may be represented.  There may be multiple courts of the same type within one county.
